My Story
Hi, I’m Anne-Marie, a Registered Dietitian who helps active people cut through the confusion of nutrition and find a way of eating that actually works for their body, lifestyle, and goals. My approach is evidence-based, but also realistic and supportive, so that making changes feels doable. I’m especially passionate about helping people manage or prevent diabetes, improve gut health, and finally feel at peace with food after years of struggling with diets.
My career has taken me through a variety of settings. I’ve worked in medical clinics across Kingston and the surrounding areas, supporting people with weight management, diabetes, and heart health. I spent time in the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Lennox & Addington County General Hospital, and later supported students at Queen’s University — including varsity athletes, and those navigating digestive conditions, PCOS, diabetes, and disordered eating.
I also acknowledge that I live and work on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples. My past work with the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte has deepened my appreciation for Indigenous knowledge, resilience, and community, and I am grateful for the opportunity to practice here in Kingston.
My own health journey has shaped the way I practice, too. For years, I trained intensely in CrossFit, which taught me the value of discipline, but also the hard lessons of what happens when you push too far. Over time, I learned the importance of balance, recovery, and listening to your body — especially when navigating a challenging IBS diagnosis. Now, I share those lessons with my clients, especially those working to improve gut health, manage chronic conditions, and stay active in a sustainable way.
Food is more than just fuel. With advanced training in eating disorder care and emotional eating, I help people reconnect with their bodies, develop strategies that make sense for their lives, and feel more at ease around food.
When I’m not working with clients, you can usually find me at the gym, in the kitchen testing new recipes, or on a long hike with my dog, Wally.
Anne-Marie is registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
